Busy with Studies; but ...

"Who'd have thunk?"!  (is there such a word?!)

Veterinary Assistant studies are now having to focus on Communication and Administration in the Veterinary practise - an incredible 5 weeks!

NOTE to ABI-Community: "Barriers to" and "Hints for" effective communication should be part of one's own rehabilitation and preparation for integration back 'into' the World!

My own perception was affected - or so I later learned!  At the time - early years of rehab. - I had little idea as to my keen sense of perception of the unspoken word.  One's sense of 'not belonging' is rationalized or sublimated as a means of self-defense, sometimes clouding one' perception of what is being communicated - verbally and non-verbally.   The later is a form of communication, in my case anyway, that seems to be quite acute; whether or not it is accurate, I am still devising means to determine!

"Say what you mean and mean what you say"!
HOWEVER ...
It is amazing how one's long-term memory can hobble one's effort's to communicate, as above!
I sought to maintain a friendship (recognized by others as an "acquaintance") and denied my self the questions necessary to illustrate my love.
... but how often is today's "conversations" entailing some kind of defense mechanism to cope with today's stresses?!    To realize these mechanisms are common coping mechanism of non-ABI-persons is SOMEWHAT conforting ... but when we are ALL just 'coping"?!?!?

P.S.  Maggie's training for re-integration into domestic-life-in-a-Town is coming along slowly as for the teachings; quickly as for her learnings!

Desperately seeking ME - or pictures of me~!

"Marriage" nowadays is NOT the "marriage" talked about in the Bible!

... and WHY could I not see the forthright common sense of a dear friend of so long ago?!?!?!

"Be careful, ABI-Colleagues!  be careful of what you wish for!  Unless you want children, why must we marry?!?!

If I could not recognize the deterioration of the institute of marriage 24 years ago, I surely was going to have a perversion of the idea of "marriage"!
Even I am having to look at the original translation of the Good Book!

When I hear of George SMITHERMAN looking for his husband, most assuredly "marriage" referred to in the Bible IS NOT the marriage of today!

Have been on  the road to Independence since completing the second year in a celibate marriage.
... and to think THAT was believed to be the reason FOR marriage!
I choose to enjoy the humour of 20/20 hindsight!

Chronicles of "Maggie"

"Maggie Mae" about 5 years, post
                                                     Championship-coat, post 3 litters!
(under the very same table as cover photo above, too!)

Completion of her THIRD week in Uxbridge, as of TODAY!
She has had a rough 'go' of it!
As cheerful and easy-going as she acted all the time, the physical stress of changing environments, changing food and changing ownership has taken it's toll.
Maggie's weight is down about 5 kg, we had to give her a 'shot' (1 tablet) of DRONTAL), Fortiflora started to be mixed with food daily and Metronizadole  250 mg., twice daily for a week to heal her bleeding bowel!

This is the REASON for graduating changes!
Your dog may look to be able to change without fuss; but the "gradual change" is for the inner workings of the one's beloved canine!
Lesson learned!

Fear had been with the possibility of a worm-infection (seeing white spots in stool!).
With the recent bloody diarrhea the fear changed to parvoviral infection (in which case all dogs she had come in contact with would have to be notified!)

Family will head down to TURKEY POINT (where Barbara's father grew up!) and meet Obee's new Owner to pass-on his medications, food and toys ... Monday of this fall long weekend!
