Busy with Studies; but ...

"Who'd have thunk?"!  (is there such a word?!)

Veterinary Assistant studies are now having to focus on Communication and Administration in the Veterinary practise - an incredible 5 weeks!

NOTE to ABI-Community: "Barriers to" and "Hints for" effective communication should be part of one's own rehabilitation and preparation for integration back 'into' the World!

My own perception was affected - or so I later learned!  At the time - early years of rehab. - I had little idea as to my keen sense of perception of the unspoken word.  One's sense of 'not belonging' is rationalized or sublimated as a means of self-defense, sometimes clouding one' perception of what is being communicated - verbally and non-verbally.   The later is a form of communication, in my case anyway, that seems to be quite acute; whether or not it is accurate, I am still devising means to determine!

"Say what you mean and mean what you say"!
HOWEVER ...
It is amazing how one's long-term memory can hobble one's effort's to communicate, as above!
I sought to maintain a friendship (recognized by others as an "acquaintance") and denied my self the questions necessary to illustrate my love.
... but how often is today's "conversations" entailing some kind of defense mechanism to cope with today's stresses?!    To realize these mechanisms are common coping mechanism of non-ABI-persons is SOMEWHAT conforting ... but when we are ALL just 'coping"?!?!?

P.S.  Maggie's training for re-integration into domestic-life-in-a-Town is coming along slowly as for the teachings; quickly as for her learnings!
