This was the name of the seminar at FOREVER FRIENDS Dog Training School
now
it is "Conflict Resolution"
WEll ... the 'conflict' is between the Puli & i ... we are in "conflict' as to WHO is Boss!
Last evening, while on the last Widdle Wander + game of 'Tug' of the evening, we stumbled across a couple of young men playing frisbee.
Well ... thqt was just too much like the game we play as a family; only thing was, the Players were not familiar.
So WHAT is he thinking?
He circles them boys - who have stopped tossing the frisbee - barking incessantly.
I blow the signal to "Come" - no response, nor cessation of noise.
I blow the signal to 'Halt"; no affect on the barking.
The boys, amused but interested in helping me out, move together; "herded' to a cluster ... the barking and circling continues.
Ever conscious of my anger/embarasment -of-lack-of-control, attempt to remain calm.
I get down on the ground - his eye level - and lure him with a treat.
The moment my other hand raises to grab his collar, he darts away ... I could not believe it !
Seaarching my brain for alternative behaviours, I finally "lure-with-treat", giving the "Down" command and grabthe top of his neck.
The entire ordeal must have been about 20 minutes!
This morning's Widdle Wander was on his 20' long-line - and will be for the rest of our Wanders on the Yet-to-Bw-Opened golf Course!
