SHEPHERD's Whistle

Assigning whistle-sounds-to-commands  (individual to each Shepherd, I trust?!)

3 X 10"-sessions   > in house
                             > in field
                             > in field with distance

"HALT" - that is, stop where you are and look towards me
              - formerly called-out with arm raised straight qabove head 9ready to command Puli
                                                                                                                           to a "DOWN"-position
               - sharp, loud & long blow, with last 'syllable'  ascending  ... "tooo-wit"
(can I log recordings on this BLOG?!?!!?)

"FOCUS ME" - to be blown when Puli becomes hypervigilant and looking around nervously

                       - purpose is to take his focus off of perceived fear and to await his next command ...
                                                                                                                                    and FOCUS on me!
                      - whistle is a barely audible version of "HALT" above

"HERE" - coming to me and sitting at my left side, looking at me for next command
              - high pitched 'trill' (quick work of the tongue on Shepherd's whistle!)

I am going to spend 30" Tuesday & Thursday training with the Shepherd's Whistle
Wednesday morning: Public Access Training at the FARMER's MARKET;
Wednesday evening: Novice Obedience Trial training with PADOC, indoors @ Kingswood Community
Centre.
Weather permitting, Friday's Training will be 'physical' with an hour's bike ride on JACKSON TRAIL.
Saturday morning, 2 hours only, Public Acces Training at FARMER's MARKET - if need be!
Sunday - Family Day - long-line wander (or off-leash if we are lucky!)
