Our forth-straight Friday doing Puli Day Care!!
Well, I should have known better; at least known my disabilities better - not only do I have a 4-hr. "battery life" (as opposed to your regular 8-hr "battery life" or day!)
BUT
I have YET to make it through a seven-day-week! I mustn't complain - it used to be mid-day Wednesday that I 'peetered-out'! Now, I drag my 'buns' to finish Thursday and cannot much more than a 'nod-hello' by Fridays. What was I thinking?!?! ... to have two Pulik to laugh at?!?!?!!
Well, get this: Obee sensed my anxiety ( and knew I had been up at 04h!) and was in a distinctly LOW KEY-mood all morning. None of the, "This is my House and I am the dominant One here!"-rough-housing! I offered both Pulik 'Chew-Bones' and only Patko daintily took the bone to head for a private place to CHEW! Obee refused the treat. Not only was he not bothered by Patko's drinking from his dish, but he even refused a good CHEW! You could just see his
resigned-"Ho-Hum"-sigh and could have sworn he said, "Oh, this Clown, again"!
Before it started raining, I whisked them-off to drop Michael at work and then to the VEYO Centre where I do my "work"!
(I am washing & packing-for-next-year PASSION-Costumes @ VEYO (Youth Centre!) Obee was used to the routine and remained in his given "PLACE"; Patko, on the other hand - still only 18 months old - couldn't sit still!
(and I FORGOT to bring Toys!) I was suitably impressed as to how he seemed to follow Obee's 'lead', though, and not get excited, barking excessively with the arrival of people to & from the Youth Centre
Just before the end of two hours I noticed Patko doing trance-like circles in front of Obee ... THAT was my cue to cut work short and head to the KDP - Kingsway Dog Park!
Obee could smell WHAT we were heading towards, two lights BEFORE we got there! I did not have him strapped in his usual "seatbelt-harness" - he was just tied to Patko - and he was trying to get on top of the bags, binders & bottles (tin water bottle!) I had pile onto the passenger seat - in anticipation of these very antics!
Awaiting a polite "Sit" before I opened the gate to the KDP, Obee charged-in to say "Hello", to the Boyz (and Girl-pups!)
Patko, on his only second visit to the KDP, tentatively stuck by my side! (his leash was tied to my waist!) He let-out a few barks in his fearfully-aggressive wayway ; but, I don't think he fooled anyone (dogs, that is!) ! Being one of the smallest dogs in the Park,he was the NOT "Big-Man-on-Campus", despite what he may have thought!
Obee made the Rounds - butt-to-butt - but was quick to come to my side as I entered the Office, to talk business with "Lori".
After 10 minutes of talking I noticed Obee looking, I thought , rather forlornly out the screen-door.
There was a 30' penned-area just outside the door and, asking permission to close it off, tied the two leashes together and let "Mutt & Jeff" out for a romp - Lori & I could watch them through the door!
Whew!
I could never get used to "Tweeting"! I am too verbose!
You ALL have other reading to do!
Thanks for your focus and I'll hope to bring more of the Adventures of Obee the Puli
:)
